Mayor Villaraigosa and LAPD collected 1,673 guns this Mother’s Day weekend through the 2012 Gun Buyback program!
From the Mayor’s Facebook: “Thank you to the Angelenos who turned in a firearm this weekend for the 2012 Gun Buyback program and helping us secure a safer City for everyone. 1,673 firearms were collected.”
“We do it on Mother’s Day because we think mothers have a strong influence on families and will get them to turn in their unwanted guns,”
Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck told KTLA-TV Channel 5.
In exchange for the guns, people received a Ralphs or Visa prepaid card for varying amounts depending on the gun type — up to $200 for assault weapons and up to $100 for handguns, rifles and shotguns.
Since the program began, over 6,200 guns have been taken off the streets and gun violence has been reduced 20%, Beck said.
This is crazy to think about!! the people who turned in guns were normal every day people like me and you imagine the people who are shady and still have theirs!!! now thats a scary thought!!!

CALIBASH 2012 Let me start by saying INSANE!!!! every sexy latina in LA was in attendance. The staple center was a packed house and every one was ready to party with LATINO 96.3 the atmosphere in the staples center was high and insane if you missed out on this epic concert well there is always next year!!! i was super excited to be a part of the party and let me tell you i was super excited to see Sensato do his thing that dude killed LATINOS IN PAIRS made every one go wild!!! there was a lot of surprises. lets just say NEXT YEAR DONT SLEEP ON BUYING YOUR TICKETS!!! once the concert was over we continued the party over at j lounge and all my LATINOS were ready to party!!! we partyed on a tuesday like if it was a SATURDAY!!! over all January 24,2012 was a Great Day and night!!! SHOUT OUT TO MY TEAM, P-NUT,RP SWAG, A-TUNEZZ, SKREAM, ZATURN, CARLOS, TALL-CARLOS, CLAUDIA, RAQ-C, NACHINGON, HIFE, SANDRA PENA, CAROLINA MARQUEZ, EDDIE ONE, VOLYTOL, MC DANO, SANTAROSA, DAVID ROLAS, AND MORE LOL we all did WORK and went hard!!!!!

Today we invaded south gate rent-a-wheel with Raq-C and ya boys dj Zoe dj hife and RP swagger and we had those tickets every one wants Calibash 2012. Let me start by saying this was one of the most crazies events I had done yet we had one guy lick his girls feet that were full of dirt and all dirty just so he can win a pair of tickets to Calibash 2012 we even had an old lady down on all fours acting like an elephant lol good times. We had the Rent-A-Wheel in south gate going crazy and all out party!!! My girl RAQ-C had the party going with my boy hife and myself rockin the turntables!!! Carolina, Zoe, and RP swag were out n about!!
So we were roaming the streets out in Downey giving away a lot of goodies and hugs!! We had a good crowd and we were having a dance party in the parking lot. Carolina had a fan that came out and brought here a painting he had done for her. Let me tell you I saw the painting in person and it is pretty dope!!! We had a lot of our fans out to hang with us and even partake in the fun. Right when we were leaving we ran into Ray J and he showed us some love!!

Today La Comadre RAQ-C along with Dj Hife,Dj Zoe and myself were in the city of Anaheim,for the grand Re-Opening of DEL TACO.Listeners got a chance to get tacos for only 29 cents and with tons of prizes courtesy of Latino 96.3 & Del Taco.Prizes included Calibash 2012 tixs and a Mountain Bike to name a few. So today me and my girl Sandra invaded Golden west college for the Annual Chicano Latin Day and let me tell my Latinos were ready to party it up with us. it was wild and a great time We would like to give a special shout out to the following high schools Back Bay HS, Huntington Beach HS, Valley Vista HS, Westminster HS, Fountain Valley HS, Los Amigos HS, Ocean View HS, Tustin HS, Estancia HS, Newport Harbor HS, Rancho Alamitos HS, Coasta Meza HS, Coast HS, Garden Grove HS, Pacifica HS YOU guys were awsome and Danced the afternoon with us SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO MI CASA CLUB for hosting this event and make it all happen thanks for having us out and allowing us to rock your school !!!!!

Don Omar day 2!!!
Day one was crazy but day two was bananas!!! Me and my boy Zaturn held it down for the station at the concert we went around asking every one about Calibash 2012 and people were excited!!! Don Omar like always put on a great show and rocked the house. The Don had every one dancing were they stood no matter there age if you were in the house u were dancing too!!! The song selection he had was perfect old to new from hard to soft every song was perfectly in the right spot!!!
