LOVE YOURSELF

 
In my lifetime,
 
I have come across a lot of people who don’t believe they need to love themselves.
 
Some were abused,
 
and never knew what it meant to be loved.
 
Others were never TOLD they were loved,
 
and therefore,
 
have no idea how to love.
 
And then, there are those who were TAUGHT to not love themselves.
 
Maybe an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend beat them down with negative comments.
 
And constantly told them they were useless.
 
My friend,
 
no matter what situation you have faced,
 
no matter what anyone has said to you,
 
You deserve to be loved.
 
You deserve to have GOOD things.
 
You deserve to have people in your life ENCOURAGING you,
 
telling you JUST how SPECIAL YOU REALLY ARE!
 
And most importantly,
 
you deserve… to love yourself.
 
so…
 
LOVE YOURSELF!
 
“But, Nate… I don’t know HOW to love myself.”
 
Well, first…
 
You gotta say it.
 
“I LOVE me.”
 
Then, you gotta prove it…
 
Hug yourself,
 
pat yourself on the back;
 
Show yourself some kind of affection.
 
And then,
 
You gotta KNOW…
 
that every negative word said to you…
 
every negative thing done to you…
 
… is NOT what love is.
 
Love is patient,
 
love is kind,
 
love is caring,
 
love… is respectful.
 
And it’s the ONE thing we can’t live without.
 
So, love yourself.

STAY FOCUSED.  STAY PREPARED.  STAY READY.

 
The fastest and easiest way to miss out on an opportunity,
 
is to not be READY when the time comes.
 
If you really want to set your self up for success,
 
you need to be FOCUSED on your goal. 
 
Don’t let anyone or anything distract you from getting to where you desire to be.
 
If you wanna change careers,
 
you need to plan out what it is you would like to do,
 
write down some ideas on HOW you can achieve this goal,
 
and then,
 
don’t let outside distractions make you LOSE your focus.
 
Don’t let your friends convince you to go out to that party,
 
instead of focusing on other tasks that will get you to your dream.
 
You need to be PREPARED.
 
If you’re looking for a new job,
 
you need to have a stack of resumes on you at all times–
 
in your backpack,
 
or
 
in your car.
 
There is a girl who just got hired here at the radio station.
 
She told me she so-happened to run into one of the hiring guys,
 
and after talking with him,
 
he asked her if she had a resume.
 
She ran to her car,
 
got her resume,
 
and she now has a job working in radio.
 
She was PREPARED.
 
In whatever you do,
 
whether it’s baking,
 
camping,
 
job hunting,
 
or studying for a class;
 
You will ALWAYS find success,
 
if you are focused,
 
prepared,

and ready!

SPEND THE DAY BEING THANKFUL
 
We, as a society, are programmed to want more.
 
When you walk into any grocery store,
 
you are guaranteed to see discount signs that say “2-for-1.”
 
“You can get TWO bags of chips for the price of one!”
 
You may see a commercial on T.V.,
 
where a guy says “package deals.”
 
“you buy a big screen tv, and we’ll throw in the dvd player for free!”
 
wanting more is a way of life.
 
It is the way that many of us think.
 
We want more from our relationships,
 
we want more for our homes,
 
we want more from our T.V. programs!
 
But hardly ever,
 
do we take a minute to be thankful for what we have,
 
and where we are.
 
Yesterday,
 
for the first time in a long time,
 
I took the time to be thankful…
 
And it felt GOOD! 
 
It made me smile.
 
So,
 
today,
 
spend it being thankful!
 
Be thankful for your cell phone,
 
even if the screen is cracked and you can’t see anything–it still works!
 
If you’re not in a good mood,
 
be thankful that you know what a GOOD mood feels like!
 
Thank your parents,
 
thank your teachers,
 
thank your dog!
 
The more thankful you are,
 
the better you’ll SEE… How great your life really is.

WHEN THINGS DON’T WORK IN YOUR FAVOR

 
It’s amazing how one minute,
 
you can be on top of the world,
 
with a great job,
 
great relationship with your spouse,
 
tons of friends,
 
Life.  Is.  Good.
 
and just when your back is turned…
 
Everything falls apart!
 
You get laid off from your job,
 
all you do is argue with your spouse,
 
and your friends at school seem to HATE you.
 
This is NOT the way you invisioned your life.
 
It seems as though NOTHING is working in your favor.
 
But, my friend,
 
let me tell you…
 
When One Door Closes… Another Door Opens.
 
I was a television news reporter,
 
and I thought my life was GREAT!
 
When all of a sudden… I was fired out of the blue–
 
I then, throught my life… was over.
 
Little did I know…
 
My life was JUST begninng!
 
When I was let go from that station,
 
it gave me the courage to move to Los Angeles.
 
Within a few months,
 
I was a reporter for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
 
A bigger audience,
 
on a bigger network;
 
which led to more television,
 
and now,
 
radio gigs that,
 
I would not have gotten, had a stayed as a news reporter.
 
My friend,
 
When a door closes on you,
 
don’t take that as the end.
 
Sometimes one door HAS to close,
 
in order for you to walk through the door of your TRUE destiny.
