WE ALL GOT ISSUES
 
If you have ever met a person who said there life was perfect,
 
DON’T BELIEVE THEM.
 
No matter WHO you are,
 
how  much money you have,
 
what kind of clothes you wear,
 
or what kind of car you drive…
 
We all HAVE or have HAD some kind of problem.
 
I met a lady who is fighting her ex-husband for the custody of her children.
 
The very next day,
 
I met a guy who was released from jail one hour prior.
 
He had no shoes,
 
and his main concern was WHERE he would find something to protect his feet.
 
Another guy,
 
I see on the streets, who appears to be homeless;
 
He holds a big white sign everyday that says
 
“Please help… All I need is food.”
 
So, I pass him some of my lunch whenever I see him.
 
The point is…
 
We ALL have issues.
 
Whether it’s big or small.
 
But, I want to tell you,
 
your problem…
 
that thing that bothers you…
 
It won’t last forever.
 
You are NOT alone in this battle.
 
Your issue you’re facing may cause you to CRY,
 
May cause you to breakdown.
 
There may be a part of you that wants to lose all hope.
 
But hear me clearly…
 
DON’T GIVE UP, MY FRIEND.
 
Fight through this.

You’re gonna make it.
 
You’re gonna make it.
 
You are going to make it.

WHETHER RAIN OR SHINE… THIS DAY… IS ALL MINE

 
The weatherman said it suppose to rain today.
 
If it does,

will that stop you from having the BEST day you POSSIBLY can!?!
 
It certanly WON’T!
 
if  you see clouds, and rain drops…
 
let it give you joy.
 
It’s a privilege to be OUTSIDE and experience the cold climate,
 
versus spending the whole day miserable.
 
Look at the brighter side!
 
Too often,
 
if things in our day don’t go our way,
 
we will find it our RIGHT to complain;
 
and then we allow it to ruin our mood.
 
I say THINK THE OTHER WAY!
 
Think about the things you can look forward to today!
 
It may be that warm cup of coffee,
 
that favorite televison show,
 
that boy you have a crush on at school
 
there’s ALWAYS something to be happy about.
 
so, don’t let the weather take your happiness away!
 
As you are all getting ready to TACKLE your day,
 
tell yourself… “it’s gonna be a good one!
 
Whether rain or shine…
 
This day is ALL mine!”

YOU AINT OLD YET

 
Someone once said, “Age aint nothing but a number.”
 
I’ve also heard it said that “Age… is just a state of mind.”
 
For some reason,
 
the older people get,
 
the more negative they become.
 
“I’m too old to dance like that.”
 
I’m too old to play games.”
 
People let a number RESTRICT them from living life!
 
I have a lot of friends who are turning 30 this year;
 
And without fail,
 
they tell me how their life is almost over.
 
Which is ridiculous!
 
Because life isn’t over until YOU stop living!
 
When you start putting restrictions on yourself,
 
Saying what you can’t do because of a number…
 
that is when you start getting old.
 
I know a 75 year old man who is FULL of life!
 
Everytime you see him,
 
he has the biggest smile on his face!
 
and you can tell he enjoys every minute of his day.
 
One day he told me,

“Nate… I’m NEVER gonna be OLD!”
 
My friends,
 
Thats the kind of thinking we need to have.
 
Don’t let a number define who you are,
 
because no matter what your age is…
 
you aint old yet!
 
You’re not too old to learn how to snowboard,

You’re not too old to build sand castles.
 
Go climb a tree!
 
Grab some friends and go jump rope!
 
Live life as long as you can,
 
and ALWAYS stay young at heart.

UTILIZE YOUR RESOURCES

 
In this world,
 
they say its not about WHAT you know,
 
It is all about WHO you know.
 
For many years I didn’t want to believe this.
 
But after seeing lots of people get jobs,
 
NOT based on their resume,
 
but from their “inside connection;
 
I am now a believer that knowing someone can HELP you get a step further.
 
I have a friend who has a really nice job at NIKE.
 
He deals with professional atheletes,
 
and is able to travel the world.
 
He is LITERALLY living a dream.
 
And do you know HOW he got his job? 
 
His friend works at NIKE,
 
and he simply asked if there were any job openings!
 
He got hired,
 
and then worked his way up.

He utilized his resource.
 
And thats what I encourage YOU to do for everything–

utilize your resources.
 
This doesn’t mean that you go through life LOOKING to use people,
 
no, don’t do that.
 
All it means,
 
is you’re seeking networking opportunities.
 
There is nothing wrong with asking people for help.
 
If you know someone,
 
or hear of someone that is doing something you would like to do,
 
Talk to them!
 
Ask them how YOU can get involved.
 
“Oh, you work at that famous restaurant? I’m a chef, could you refer me to someone?”
 
“I see you work on cars?  Thats my dream.  How can I get an internship?”
 
“But, Nate, I don’t know anyone!”
 
Don’t worry about that, my friend.
 
Just continue working hard,
 
and an opportunity will present itself to you.
 
If you utilize your resources,
 
you may find it a little easier to get ahead in life.
